Tick…tock…

Nervous?  ME???  Never.

Take the battery to the garage.  Install it.  Remove valve covers.  Pour oil (8 quarts).  Put trans in NEUTRAL.  Remove coil wire.  Turn key until oil comes out of the pushrods.  Install valve caps.  Install coil wire.  CROSS YOUR FINGERS…and crank it.

Check the oil pressure.  Monitor the coolant level.  Set the fuel pressure regulator.  Vary the revs.  Cycle the power steering system, monitor level and add as necessary.    Check the cooling fan operation.

GENTLY test the clutch & transmission.

Shut it down.  Change the oil & filter.  Start it up again, and back it down the driveway…and run it through the gears!  (I doubt it’ll work well enough to get this far tonight.)

7pm.  Be there, or forever save your hearing.
